Visual Ecology of Reef Fish
This project focused on the behavioural training and assessment of optical performance in various reef fish, including soldierfish, squirrelfish and triggerfish. The project involved the extraction of reef fish opsins from sequenced genomes, which were then used to inform the design of behavioural training protocols for the fish. The goal of this project was to assess the visual capabilities of these fish and gain insights into their sensory ecology.
This work was conducted throughout my undergraduate years as part of summer research scholarships.
As this is my earliest research experience, this project page will be updated with more details at a later date (once more current research and work projects have been fleshed out more suitably.)
