Projects

I am a jack of all trades, master of some (CV and data analysis, mainly). While I have covered a lot of domains in my research career so far, I am currently interested in building on my full-stack ML/AI development skills and working on CV projects for the aquaculture industry.

Stress Detection Model (CV)

A bespoke aquaculture computer vision model trained to detect stress behaviours in barramundi (Lates calcarifer). This project was designed in cooperation with the client farm, and then developed by me as a full-stack solution.

Fish Disease Detection (CV)

Trying to determine whether computer vision models can be used to detect disease status in aquaculture-relevant fish from behavioural traits. This project is not built for an industry client, but is research-orientated and more exploratory in nature.

SliM-R Integration (In-silico genetic simulations)

Successful integration of R into SliM to allow for information to be passed and returned within generations, with full HPC support.

The Impact of Thermal Stress on Immunology and Physiology of Barramundi

Determining how the type of cold stress (chronic vs dirunal) affects fish. This work forms the foundation of one of my PhD chapters.

Behavioural Training and Assessment of Optical Performance in Various Reef fish

Extraction of reef fish opsins from sequenced genomes alongside behavioural training of soldierfish, squirrelfish and triggerfish in order to assess visual capabilities.

Compositional Statistics Analysis Repo

Built around the analysis of bloodsmear data, this repository explains how to analyse compositional data appropriately. This repo will accompany a subsequent publication.

FireSting Pipeline

A data-processing pipeline for use with FireSting Respirometers.
